Experience hands-on ocean science at S.E.A. Lab at the Marine Mammal Care Center. S.E.A. stands for Science, Exploration, and Action for Ocean Conservation. Additionally, this interactive program lets visitors learn through self-guided activities. Meanwhile, participants can explore at their own pace and choose the topics that interest them most.
Guests can examine real plankton under a microscope and learn about tiny ocean life. Plus, hands-on experiments show how water density and salinity affect the ocean. Visitors can also discover how seals and sea lions adapt to life in the marine environment. As a result, every activity helps connect science to real-world ocean conservation.
S.E.A. Lab is designed for all ages and experience levels. Because activities are flexible and interactive, everyone can participate and learn. Available every Saturday during the summer, the program inspires future scientists, ocean advocates, and marine life enthusiasts.
